The Town of Halton Hills is a community of communities located on the outer edge of the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). Defined by the Niagara Escarpment, the Town enjoys a diverse matrix of rugged landscapes, dense forests, rolling hills, meandering rivers, and productive wetlands. Its two urban areas, Georgetown and Acton, as well as its many hamlets provide Halton Hills with varied identities featuring distinct cultural resources.

The Cultural Master Plan identifies the Town’s cultural and intrinsic resources and provides a plan to integrate culture and its economic significance into the structure of governance. Features of the plan include a tourism market analysis and a physical plan for the future of cultural planning in Halton Hills. Public input techniques help to prepare a plan that fits the needs of the community. A fundamental result of the Cultural Master Plan is the development of policies that will incorporate a cultural lens to decision making in Halton Hills.
